About Sami Thorpe

From an early age I have always enjoyed drawing portraits of my family's pooches past and present. I love being able to capture an expression that tells a story, this is what I feel brings a portrait to life.

Since leaving school I took the opportunity to explore the World taking my sketchbook with me. It was fantastic to draw individuals that I bumped into along the way. Bright eyed children covered in dirt without a care in the World and old weathered faces full of what looked like every worry imaginable.

Once returning back to the UK I decided to make art my profession. Six years on and my portrait business has gone from strength to strength throughout Britain and beyond.

By far my favourite portraits requested have been those of our faithful four legged friends. This is why I have chosen them as my inspiration behind this collection.
